Below is an overview of some of the signature events of Welcome Week. A more specific calendar will be loaded in September 2018

Unless otherwise noted all events are for both on campus and off campus living students, and unless other noted are for all new students (both transfer and first-year).  

If you are a university department and have submitted an event, the event will not be listed here right away, there is a calendar being created to include all event submitted, that will replace this page in late August.

Sunday, September 16
  • All- Day: University Housing and Dining Services Move-In Day
    • All students living on campus will be moving in throughout the day.  More information can be found in the Fall Term Move-In Guide.
  • 5:00pm-9:00pm: Residence Hall Meetings & Floor Meetings
    • Required all-hall meetings for resident halls. This event is only for students living within the residence halls. 
  • 9:00pm- 12:00am: Welcome Week Rec Night
    • The kick-off event for Welcome Week. 
Monday, September 17
  • START 
    • For students (first-year and transfer) who have not yet registered for fall term courses by this point, will need to attend.  Registration for program is required.
  • 11:00am- 2:00pm: Taste of Campus
    • This event will take you throughout campus where you can learn and explore all the food options around campus.  
  • 2:00pm-5:30pm: WowFest
    • The OSU Program Council, ASOSU and Student Health Services present to you the 2018 WOW Fest! Throughout this event, students will have the opprotunity to play disc golf while learning about campus resources and various topics related to health and safety. To top it all off, the event will feature a SUPER slide and zipline!
  • 6:00pm-8:00pm: Go Greek BBQ
    • For those interested in learning more about the Greek community or in signing up for recruitment or intake. 
  • 8:00pm-9:30pm: ComedySportz with RHA
    • ComedySportz is an interactive and engaging improv comedy show that uses audience participation to maximize fun.
  • 9:30pm-1:00am: Movie Night
    • Showing Incredibles 2.  Water only in the facility.  Bring blankets or camp chairs.
Tuesday, September 18- Wear your Orange and Black
  • 8:30am-12:15pm: Classroom Success Strategies
    • Hear from the professors themselves on what it takes to be successful in the classroom.  
  • 12:15pm - 3:00pm College Events
    • Each undergraduate college will have an event to welcome their new students in and to meet faculty and staff within the college.
  • 3:00pm-4:30pm: New Student Walk and Convocation
    • Largest tradition of Welcome Week.  Gather with your fellow classmates and participate in your official academic welcome to Oregon State.
  • 5:00pm-7:00pm: Orange and Black Rally
    • Come learn the chants and traditions of OSU Athletics and take your official O-S-U class photo.  New Student Walk and Convocation feeds directly into this event.
  • 9:00pm-1:00am: End of Summer Beaver Bash
    • The End of the Summer Beaver Bash is back and better than ever! The OSU Program Council will be featuring a DJ Foam Party, inflatable obstacle courses, glow in the dark lazer tag, and delicious food trucks. (Located in MU Quad/SEC Plaza) Following the event, there will be a late night Hyptonist show in the MU Ballroom by McVicar the Trickster! (Doors open at 11pm for the show) 
Wednesday, September 19
  • Drop In Activities and Open Houses
  • 6:30pm-10:00pm: We Have Work To Do: Office of Institutional Diversity Campaign Kickoff
    • Join the Office of Institutional Diversity, Student Experience and Engagement, and ASOSU at Gill Coliseum for this kickoff event featuring comedian Hari Kondabolu. Doors open at 6:30, general admission. No ticket needed with a valid OSU ID, public tickets are $10.
Thursday, September 20 (first day of classes)
  • 12:00pm-4:00pm: Beaver Community Fair
    • Over two hundred different booths representing OSU departments & student organizations, Corvallis community agencies & businesses and local non-profit organizations will fill the Memorial Union Quad, making visible the opportunity to connect with services, products and involvement opportunities on campus and around the area.
Friday, September 21 
  • 9:00pm-1:00am: Battle of the DJs & Flapjack Feed
    • Join OSU Program Council for one of the largest Welcome Week events where student DJ's battle it out live on stage and afterwards come feast on free flapjacks in the Memorial Union and test your knowledge with a trivia show.
Saturday, September 22
  • Morning to Mid-Afternoon: Fall Into Service
    • Start the academic year engaged in your community. Fall into Service! Join the Center for Civic Engagement to learn about and contribute to organizations that are doing great work to strengthen our local community while building connections with others at OSU. Bond, learn, serve!
  • Kick-off is TBD: Home Football Game 
  • 9:00pm-12:00am Move Night at AMC
    • Join us for a FREE movie of your choice with your OSU student ID! Ticket vouchers will be distributed at 8:50pm at the Carmike Cinema (AMC). Vouchers are limited to the first 300 students, and must be used the same night for an evening showing. You MUST present your OSU student ID to receive a free ticket.*
